Must See: Forks Over Knives and Planeat!

I’m so excited about this Spring because not one but TWO awesome documentaries about plant-based nutrition are coming out! Planeat is coming out this month and may already be in a theater near you, so check the link and look it up. Marcella and I are so excited about these films that we are teaming up with local business owner Jeff Kroll to provide a local screening of Planeat at Crossroads Coffee on May 26th!! More details to come, but we will be there to answer questions and there will be plenty of delicious vegan snacks! This film focuses on the environmental impacts of the food we eat, and demonstrates what I learned during my plant-based nutrition certification; namely that what you eat has the single greatest impact you make on the environment. Much much more than what you drive or what you do for a living, so if you are environmentally minded you must see this film! I for one was only ever interested in the health aspects of nutrition, but once I learned what a tremendous impact our diet has on the world I knew those facts couldn’t be ignored either, and I encourage you to join us and learn about them!

The other HUGE documentary coming out about plant-based nutrition is Forks Over Knives. This film is coming to theaters everywhere this May and should have a huge impact! It will cover the health crisis we face here in the US and the major role nutrition can play in changing our lives for the better. On the all-star team of people promoting this film is my friend and associate on veganbodybuilding.com, Robert Cheeke! (Here are some pictures of me and Robert). Robert is traveling all over the country promoting this film so I know he will bring it great success. We are also looking into doing a local screening of this film, so stay tuned!

Both films will be extremely informative and, best of all, both have my two favorite researchers in the realm of plant based nutrition: Dr. T. Colin Campbell (author of The China Study) and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn of the Cleveland Clinic (author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease)! They are giants in the field of nutrition and much of the knowledge we now have about the benefits of plant-based nutrition is due to their life’s work.
